Re: Discuss The DC Relaunch
Anybody here tried buying the new 52 from the Barnes & Noble comic sections? I'm going to give it a shot and see if they have any of the number ones. Wonder what day they get their new comics shipped.

Barnes & Noble packaging s*cks. I have ordered hardbacks and they came in with the dustjackets torn and one looked like it was dropped repeatedly on one corner. Never again.

Re: Discuss The DC Relaunch
Green Lantern is the only comic coming out with a variant and a 1:200 sketch variant this week. Justice League #1 2nd Print is suppose to be out this week if I remember correctly as well.sd2416 wrote:What variants are out this week?
EDIT: Just called my LCS and they are already out of Justice League 2nd Print and have already ordered copies of the 3rd Print!!!!

Re: Discuss The DC Relaunch
I am only going to try a couple titles on the new 52. I picked up Animal Man, Action, and JLA. I missed Detective. Can anyone give me their thoughts on Detective #1? I am trying to decide if I should try fleaBay to snag a copy.

Re: Discuss The DC Relaunch
My shop this morning got allocated again on week 3. Only Green Lantern and Red Lanterns were available on the new release wall. (for walk-in non-subscribers...) No Swamp Things or Animal Mans either.
I went to a local Barnes and Noble to check out their comic section and they pretty much only had early August DC titles. They haven't gotten their week 1 DC books yet. Will check again.

If you like Batman vs. Joker stories, it's a good one. The art is really, really nice. The last page is cool too.
Honestly though, if Batman isn't one of your favorites, this is unlikely to change your mind. For me, it rings hollow like most Batman books.

Re: Discuss The DC Relaunch
I remember when I was looking for Flashpoint #1 3rd Print and I bought one off of Ebay - got it in a week before my LCS got it, so it could be the same with Justice League 1 2nd Print - just some places got it before others due to the cut-off when reordering from Diamond.

Re: Discuss The DC Relaunch
My other shop had like 8 Justice League 2nd prints on the shelves when it opened. They still had the first printings too but they ordered heavy.

Apparently there's a printing error that was "recalled".
It's a little teardrop sized green mark on Sinestro's head. Dummies are paying a little bit of money for it.

Re: Discuss The DC Relaunch
I got an even rarer new 52 printing error than that - Hawk & Dove #1 15-Foot Variant. My issue actually has 11 feet drawn by Liefeld and not the standard 19 in other issues. Apparently in some issues where the feet would normally be cut off they weren't. Even Rob was amazed it seems.400yrs wrote:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Green-Lantern-1 ... 19c8ee6030

Re: Discuss The DC Relaunch
Disney the parent company of Marvel and Time-Warner the parent company of DCE don't give a damn about high-quailty comics all they care about is money. They know this crap sells well for a short time, and once the new wears off the sales go down they will do another stunt.sd2416 wrote:Just because it sells out doesnt mean the book is good. Youngblood, Cyberstrike, Turok all sold *SQUEE*. You have a lot of people picking up the book for the first time.
How many are fans that were on the previous JLA title? How many are curious about the relaunch and may or may not stay? How many are just buying a #1 to speculate?
To me, the first issue was bland. Not what I would have expected from all the hype. Hopefully it gets better.
