For me, it was always his tendency to draw a face like a third fist. I very much liked his work, but ug, those cheekbones and chins.cjv wrote:I was never a big fan of Bart Sears and his dimpled chins and long, stringy hair always parted in the middle.
Chris
That said, I'm very much looking forward to the cover.

Re: BART SEARS RETURNS TO VALIANT!!!
I'm not sure how I feel about this. When Sears wants too he puts out some NICE stuff. He really has to care about the product he is working on for it to show.
Guess we will see what kind of Bart work we get soon.

Re: BART SEARS RETURNS TO VALIANT!!!
I am happy to see they are bringing some of the old talent back. That being said he falls somewhere far behind the likes of Sean Chen, Bob Hall, Lapham, and St. Pierre in my book. For what it's worth.

Re: BART SEARS RETURNS TO VALIANT!!!
I have no particular desire to see the old Valiant artists come back, save for Sean Chen, but I am happy to see Sears working on the character again, and hope the cover is a good one.

One can dream right?

I'd be happy with Yvel Guichet. Or Jim Calafiore.

Re: BART SEARS RETURNS TO VALIANT!!!
Yeah I have been talking to Bart about it for a while and I am sooooo glad he is doing it. This will be VERY expensive for me but I totally am ready for it.
I am a Sears and xo art collector as some of you know
This was the first time Bart drew the new X-O (a commission he did for me recently, inked by Andy Smith). I showed it to Dino and I believe he was already thinking of asking Bart to do some work but this may have cemented the idea in his head (you'd have to ask him)

I say welcome back to Valiant. If Nord decides to move on from XO I say welcome back to Sears. His recent work on Conan was top notch!

I'm really looking forward to this cover. Normally I don't worry about variants and just get whatever cover is availible. Bit this variant I want!

Now THIS I would love to see as a lithograph or some sort of poster. The coloring is perfect as well.
