Re: Someone explain the Shadowman hate to a noob
I thought the bigger problem was inconsistency. When Zircher left, the book began to meander as Jordan tried to tie in too many story-lines. The art suffered as well, and with those factors came delays (as well as 2 of the best VEI issues to date in the "filler" Shadowman #0 and #10). Then Jordan ...

Hahaha great post Greg, I'll try to keep the Faith. However, this is my concern, Dude. (Lebowski Reference, not assuming you all are dudesiggy101us wrote:

The reboot claimed that it was keeping "the core of the characters"... updated, but keeping the core.
That's true of basically every rebooted Valiant character... and it has worked for fans.

Re: Faith #1 has fastest 3rd print in history
I'm happy for Valiant's success, but is anyone else even the slightest bit wary of purposefully going after the hipster crowd? I like Faith because she's a great, well written character, but most of the new praise I've seen has been solely because she's an overweight female. That makes her ...

Someone explain the Shadowman hate to a noob
Hi everyone, I just started reading Valiant with the new titles in 2012. I've read everything so far, and enjoyed most of it. But then I come on here and see pure vitriol for Shadowman, particularly End Times. Personally, I liked it. I thought it was an amazing twist to have the hero be pushed to ...

Re: Faith #1 Discussion
Faith is just such an annoyance my character to me. All I hear her say is "blah blah tumbler blah Twitter feed blah blah." She represents everything I find wrong about society and teenage culture today."
I'm hoping it was a conscious decision, like she's trying to stick to her cover or ...

Re: Bloodshot: Reborn #10 (The Analog Man) Discussion
Loved it. Loved the tribal talk mixed with modern slang, loved the whole "Fallout+Terminator" vibe of the whole thing, loved the action scenes, loved the hints for Aric and Shadowman. Loved that the end of the world happened pretty much how it should (not should, but probably will :P) , over ...

Re: Faith #1 Discussion
Like most people here I wasn't expecting much, but it was better than I thought it would be. There were a few cringeworthy moments where it seemed like Houser was really trying to force the 'nerd girl' thing ("Radioactive spiders hurrhurrhurr" facepalm), but for the most part it was a pretty good ...

Re: X-O Manowar #43
They should use the concept of a Ninjak planting to explain the personality differences between Kindt's and Venditti's Ninjaks. Kindt's goody-two-shoes Ninjak is actually a planting trying to infiltrate Unity by being a team player, meanwhile the real Ninjak is a cynical *SQUEE* who could care less ...

Re: Wrath of The Eternal Warrior #1
My expectation is that this arc ends up being somewhat akin to Dante's Inferno . Maybe the Gollum-like troll dude is Virgil?
This is exactly what I'm thinking, this is Gilad's Inferno. Tying into the "your life flashes before your eyes" thing, think of how many mistakes and failures must flash ...

So Gilad's entire day consisted of eating a huge meal, having sex, and then going right back to bed? He really is in paradise
Seriously though, I thought it was good. Definitely a build up issue, but I get the feeling we may see the Immortal Enemy at some point

Re: Unity #24
I didn't care for this much, which really bums me out because I really wanted Unity to go out on a high note for me. I really disliked the art, like others have said you can barely tell what's happening most of the time. I'm also confused about the decision to end with a cheesy "we're super friends ...

Re: The direction of Doctor Mirage
Valiant is pushing really hard for Punk Mambo to become "their Hellblazer", in my opinion. It'll either work and be awesome, or she will drop off the map or be used as cannon fodder if it doesn't.
I think she should have a name change. I hate the name "Punk Mambo". It sounds like a bad indie comic ...

Re: Unity: A casually negative pre-mortem
:? I liked Unity the whole time. I'm not expecting Shakespeare, I'm reading a comic book. I think some of you guys are a bit spoiled by how good Valiant has been, because if one thing is even a tiny bit cheesy I come on here an everyone is acting like it's the death of an entire artform. I'm new ...

Re: Ninjak #7 Discussion
Going to need some connection between the Undead Monk and the Bleeding Monk at some point, otherwise the similarities are just too weird. Maybe the Undead Monk was a deciple of the Bleeding Monk at one time?

I agree, a much stronger villain than in #6, she was actually pretty creepy and awesome and I wouldn't mind seeing her show up again. I was a little wary at first, but I'm starting to enjoy adding supernatural elements to Ninjak. I'm enjoying the evolution from what was basically "British Batman" to ...

Okay, I know some people here haven't cared for this arc much, but didn't "You forgot about X-O Manowar." make up for it just a little bit? That was incredibly awesome  The art was fairly solid, I feel like it's been awhile since we've had a full team spread so it was nice to see. I also ...

Re: Confirmed: Valiant Ending Unity
The pattern is pretty much set now for Valiant launches, (with the exception of XO) a title will launch with a lot of hype but end around issue 25, I will that make some people reluctant to invest in a new ongoing when they know it'll end relatively quickly?

Re: Dead Drop #4
Thanks for the little expose on Kot, by the way. Reiko's "Let the women speak, Jon" whiplashed me with utterly abrupt it was, and in a way it's good to know that it comes from Kot trying to pander to the SJWs. Gives it context, at the very least.
Thanks. I was honestly halfway expecting to get ...
