Re: Alien looking to sell direct to consumer

Just to clarify. I was never hired by Alien. Only Lysa and Dani were brought on board at Alien.

Hope everyone is doing well. It's been a long time since I posted here.

Re: More rumors about Alien books

As a member of this board for almost 20 years and as a "Valiant Higher-Up" I can tell you the initial post in this thread is totally false.

And, as I said many, many years ago Time Will Tell.

Today I learned of James' passing.
Today I lost a former colleague and neighbor.
More importantly, today I lost a friend.

Although James and I didn't agree on everything during our Acclaim days together, we agreed on most. One thing we never disagreed on was our love for these great characters ...

From what I remember...

Concrete Jungle was scheduled to be a four-issue mini series. After the publication of issue #1, the line was cancelled along with all the other Acclaim comics at the time.

Years later (2002?), an individual from Canada sued Acclaim over the comic for copyright and ...

All sixty-two titles were licensed to South Korea.

The initial print runs of these first five titles ran 3,000 copies each.
As of November 2000, these were the only titles printed, however, they hoped at that time to have an additional 25 titles printed by March 2001.

That's about all the ...

Zero, here's some information I found going through some old documents.

Acclaim's bulk sale of Classics Illustrated inventory contained the following:

Frederick Douglass = 0 copies
Scarlet Pimpernel = 2,500 copies
5-Book Shakespeare Set = 712 sets
5-Book Greatest Authors Collection = 536 sets
5 ...

You had The Scarlet Pimpernel in bulk larger than the F. Douglass book?
I pretty sure, yes. I'll have to go back and look through some old records to be sure, but I'm pretty confident about that.

Zero is correct. There were 62 titles printed if I remember correctly.
The boxed sets would be the most difficult to find these days I would imagine.

I said that the Frederick Douglass title was probably the hardest to find based on my bulk sale of all Acclaim's Classic Illustrated titles back in ...

I would have to say that Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass would be the rarest of Acclaim's Classic Illustrated titles.
