Re: Doctor Mirage #1 - discussion

I really liked this book. I never read the original Valiant series, and didn't know what to expect! Shan was a strong character, with some interesting backstory! I liked the small bit with her and the house! Is Shadowman over? This should be the focus book for the Valiant world of the occult. The ...

Eternal Warrior 6 and 7

I recently read Eternal Warrior #6 and #7 for the first time and had to share some thoughts. These are comics at their best! Great writing and beautiful art by Barry Windsor Smith! A story about friendship and epic villainy! Master Darque was a pretty scary villain, in total control throughout the ...

Re: What Valiant comics should every fan own?

I know of a store that just might have some A&A. I'm going tomorrow. I love BWS work. If you've ever read his Storyteller you know how great his writing is and how beautiful his art is!

Re: What Valiant comics should every fan own?

My first Valiant was X-O #20. I started after Unity. I liked the next year to year and a half of Valiants. X-O, Solar, Shadowman. I kinda liked The Visitor and was excited when Secret Weapons came out. An Avengers or JLA type Valiant team! Well not really. I thought this was still a fun time for ...

Re: Will Bloodshot break 50,000 copies?

Just curious, are these the numbers that Valiant is looking for? In this marketplace, 40-50,000 is probably a lot. I know the publishers at Valiant have looked into this, but I'm just hoping for a healthy Valiant for the future!

We've been through that issue a lot on here and the answer is that ...

Re: Happy Mother's Day Mothergod!

I like the name Mothergod! It's kinda like All-Father, except Erica is not very regal, like Odin. She's a bit of a nut.

Re: The Valiant Villains!

i'm looking forward to see how they redo Master Darque.

i hope they make less cartoonishly thin looking.
Yeah, I think Master Darque is the villain that I am looking forward to the most. I'm wondering in which title he will reappear. Will he look the same? What differences will there be to his ...

The Valiant Villains!

I love a great villain and I'm hoping that the new Valiant does too. Valiant, back in the day, seemed to have two great villains: Master Darque and Toyo Harada. These are the two guys who I thought of as Valiants Dr. Doom or Thanos in terms of great villainy. There was also the Spider Aliens, Erica ...

Re: NVU without Magnus and Solar

I'll miss Solar the most. I liked an all-powerful hero who had that interesting origin story. After X-O, this was my favorite Valiant comic. Warren Simons and company can get creative and give us new, but similar concepts to these three characters. When it comes to Dark Horse selling these guys back ...

Re: X-O #1 SPOILERS THREAD! Read the book then this thread!

This is my first day off from work this week, so I finally read it. I thought that the team did a great job on a first issue. It seemed that they gave us a good sense of the character of Aric. Beautiful art by Cary Nord! I've never read anything by Venditti, but this was a solid, entertaining story ...

So did you ever go back and get the pre-Unity and Unity stuff?
Yes I did. Valiants were pretty pricey in the 90's, so it took awhile. Getting a lot of those early Valiants showed me what an interesting and different universe this was. I was hooked!

A Good Day

Well X-O #1 was released today, so it seems like a good day to join this board and tell my story. I've been reading comics forever and I'm a big Marvel guy and sometimes DC person. In the early 90's I was only vaguely aware of Valiant and it took some word of mouth for me to leave the mainstream and ...
