Anime/manga is cool, and seeing as Alien works with manga artists frequently, it makes sense to give Valiant a little manga flare. At the very least, they're trying something different, which oughtta be lauded.

Birthquake was still Layton as EiC. Same characters, same Vh1 continuity. The books continued their numbering, they just cancelled half the books and the ones that remained went bi-weekly.

I've always said that I'd prefer to stick to the 2012+ continuity, but honestly, Valiant/Alien has to do something to stand out. This seems like it could be fun.
